Dlamini Death: Ex-Teammate Was Driving
Happy Mashau Was Allegedly Driving The Car When Mlondi Dlamini Was Killed
The South African football fraternity was again left devastated over the weekend as Maritzburg United’s Mlondi Dlamini was killed in a car accident, and it could have been worse.
Dlamini, who was only 20, was pronounced dead at the scene once the emergency services arrived, with his club confirming the tragic news the day after the disastrous event.
Now Siya sources have indicated that the midfielder’s former teammate, and current Royal Eagles player, Happy Mashau, was allegedly driving the vehicle.
Mashau left the Team of Choice at the end of last season before landing himself a deal with Royal Eagles. He has played four National First Division games this season.
Meanwhile, another footballer, Khabisang Mabula, is currently recovering in hospital after he sustained injuries in the same accident.
The former Bidvest Wits player posted on Instagram about the loss of the South African youth international.
The police are expected to continue their investigation as they try and get to the bottom of what happened.
