Orlando Pirates defender, Happy Jele, says the players want to make sure they take their last chance to win silverware this season with the Nedbank Cup.
The Buccaneers have made it to three finals this season, the MTN8, Telkom Knockout and CAF Champions League, but were unlucky enough not to claim victory in any of them.
This weekend, they play Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals as they look to make it through to the last four.
Now, with the PSL title also out of reach, Jele says that the team is hungrier than ever to make sure that they don’t finish the season with no new trophies in their cabinet.
“Everyone in the team is looking forward to it. It’s the final one available to us and we want to win it. Everyone felt the pain of losing the cups over the last year, and we’re going to try and wipe the tears away with this trophy and make the supporters happy.
“In our previous games we’ve dominated but haven't scored goals, we’ve spent a lot of time in preparation for this game in making sure we convert our chances. We managed to get to three finals but couldn’t win them. It doesn’t mean we’re a bad team, we just need to focus on getting goals.”
Vladimir Vermezovic’s men travel to Tshwane on Saturday night as they take on an in-form Sundowns team that are also gunning for the Nedbank title.
