SuperSport United defender Edwin Gyimah was named Man of the Match for his steady performance in the Nedbank Cup final on Saturday afternoon.
Unfortunately for the player, he would taste defeat after Kaizer Chiefs claimed a 1-0 win thanks to a goal from Bernard Park in extra-time.
Gyimah kept Matsatsantsa in the game right up until the final whistle though thanks to some stunning tackles and blocks - one of which came late on to keep out a goal bound strike from Siphiwe Tshabalala.
The defender says that he was pleased with his performance in the game, and believes that even though they lost, they can be proud of their effort.
"It's very nice and I'm very happy for the performance. But Chiefs deserved it, they came all out. I think our boys did very well, but... the best team won" he said.
"It was very tense. When we started in the first-half, we didn't want to commit any mistakes. But the second-half went well and it was a nice game to watch."
