The future of Maritzburg United midfielder Frank Sarfo Gyamfi is uncertain, although the club hasn’t yet made any official announcement regarding his situation.
The Ghanaian struggled for game time under Ernst Middendorp in his first season in the PSL, although he is contracted to the Team of Choice until 2015. However, it is believed that he could be released from the side if his situation does not improve.
Maritzburg recently confirmed that Byrone Hendricks, Wayne Matle, Francis Chansa and Mthokozisi Yende have been released from the club, with Gyamfi possibly following facing a similar prospect.
The 19-year-old made two league starts with a few substitute appearances in the 2012/13 season, although his season was was disrupted by injury.
Like the Ghanaian players at Mamelodi Sundowns, Mumuni Abubakar and Emmanuel Baffour, Gyamfi did not have much to do in his first season in South Africa.
