Thabani Gumede and Thanda Royal Zulu FC were found guilty in the disciplinary hearing for insulting and attempting to assault a match official.
In a statement it was revealed that Gumede and Thanda were found guilty of charges arising from an incident where Gumede insulted and attempted to assault a match official, Olani Kwinda, after their game against United FC.
“Both parties pleaded guilty as charged. Gumede was suspended for four (4) league matches and was fined R100 000.00, of which R75 000.00 was suspended for a period of 12 months. Thanda Royal Zulu FC was fined R100 000.00 suspended in total for a period of 12 months,” said the statement.
The parties were ordered to pay the costs of the hearing. In addition, Gumede, was also ordered to furnish a written apology to the match official within seven days.
