Yesterday (Thursday, August 28), the Siya crew reported that the SuperSport top brass held a meeting with Johnson last night to discuss the fates of the head coach and goalkeeper coach, Alex Heredia.
Now a source close to SuperSport has since confirmed that Johnson has been sacked by the club.
“Kwanele Kopo will take over the coaching role on caretaker basis and he will be assisted by Kaitano Tembo,” said the source.
Meanwhile, former Bafana Bafana coach, Gordon Igesund, is believed to be leading the race for Johnson’s job.
