Arrows: Why We Were Outplayed Against Sundowns
Golden Arrows Comment On Losing To Mamelodi Sundowns
Golden Arrows feel that they were outplayed in the first half of their match against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Abafana Bes’thende were beaten 1-0 by the Brazilians in their Absa Premiership match played at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Speaking after the match, Arrows coach Clinton Larsen said Downs’ dominance in the first half cost his side the three points.
“We knew full well going into this game what we were up against. We were totally outplayed in the first half and deservedly went into the break a goal down. We did not create any clear-cut chances and could have been two or three goals down at the break such was their dominance,” Larsen told Arrows’ official website.
Larsen was impressed with the KwaZulu-Natal team’s performance in the second half of the match.
“We started the second half with more confidence with half-time substitute Ndwandwe being influential with our positive 2nd half showing. We could have stolen a point when we were denied what looked like a legitimate penalty claim,” the coach concluded.
