Golden Arrows head coach, Mandla Ncikazi, has spoken about the team’s impressive start in the new season, since taking over the reigns from Steve Komphela, who left for Mamelodi Sundowns.
After finishing the 2019/20 season disappointingly under the previous coach with no single win in last nine matches of the campaign, Abafana Bes’thende have showed signs of improvement under Ncikazi this season.
This comes after a 3-1 win over SuperSport United, and starting the season with a 1-1 draw against Bloemfontein Celtic.
“Our team has done exceptionally well in the two games that we have played. And even the match against Celtic where we played a draw, based on the chances that we created the seven of them and they had half a chance and the score was 1-1,” said Ncikazi, speaking to the media.
“But having said that I’m still satisfied with the way the boys committed themselves, the way they stuck to the game plan and I can only be grateful that they’ve allowed that I stand in front of them with the technical team that I have. So far so good, I’m hoping that this is the beginning of good things to come,” the coach added.
In their next match, Arrows will face Baroka FC at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday evening.
