Goa Delegation Make SA Football Development Trip
Goa, the former Portuguese colony in India recently sent out a 10-man delegation to make contact with the South African Soccer Federation in an effort to learn more about football development in South Africa. The group was received by Robin Petersen and he took them on a tour of a number of development academies to show them the kind of work being done in South Africa. The academy they were most impressed with was Farouk Khan's Stars of Africa Academy that has produced players like May Mahlangu.
The Siya crew can report that Farouk Khan and Robin Petersen have since been invited to Goa to present their development plans to the Goa football authorities. They will leave later this week to engage with the Goa football federation on development. The idea is to take the existing development academies in Goa and apply some of the methodology that is being used in South Africa when it comes to development of players.
The Siya crew will keep you posted on the outcome of this meeting.
