Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Glenn Verbauwhede, who is on loan at Free State Stars, is set to be replaced by either Johhny Mathole or Ayanda Mtshali for the upcoming game.
According to reports coming out of the Ea Lla Koto camp, the Belgian shot-stopper is expected back in action for the Bethlehem outfit in two weeks’ time.
“Free State Stars’ goalkeeper Glenn Verbauwhede will return to action in 10 to 14 days after receiving treatment for a muscular injury. The Belgium-born goal-minder strained a muscle behind his left knee last week and sat out of Stars' Nedbank Cup match against Wits on Saturday.
"Johhny Mathole desputised for Verbauwhede in Saturday’s match and kept Wits at bay for 120 minutes, before the Clever Boys eventually won 4-2 on penalties.
"He will likely stand in again when Ea Lla Koto take on Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday in the ABSA Premiership,” the club’s official website revealed.
If Mathole is selected to play against Maritzburg, it will be his first league game for Stars.
