Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper, Glenn Verbauwhede, is training with Free State Stars, as the Bethlehem side is searching for a player to strengthen the goalkeeping department.
In today's issue 886 of Soccer Laduma, it's been revealed that Stars have shown interest in the Belgian goalkeeper.
The 29-year-old, who signed with Sundowns last year on a two-year deal, struggled with an injury since joining the Chloorkop outfit.
According to a source close to Stars, Verbauwhede has started training with the side as he hopes to impress Tom Saintfiet for a chance to secure a loan deal.
“Glenn Verbauwhede is training with Free State Stars. He is in Bethlehem. He started training with the team on Tuesday,” said the source.
Stars suffered a blow with an injury to Burkina Faso international goalkeeper, Daouda Diakite, in the first game of the season against Kaizer Chiefs.
Verbauwhede could have a better chance of impressing Saintfiet at Stars, as the two are probably familiar with each other from Belgium.
