Chiefs’ Solinas: You Know What You Have To Do…

Giovanni Solinas says that he knows what’s expected of him at Kaizer Chiefs, and is aware of what needs to happen if the club is to win trophies this season.
The Italian’s first game in charge ended as a draw when the Amakhosi took on Mamelodi Sundowns over the weekend, with the game finishing 1-1 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, as the two sides got their first goals of the Absa Premiership season.
Solinas came on board last month as he was appointed as Steve Komphela’s successor at Naturena, and is hoping to try and help the club end their three-year trophy drought.
As they prepare to take on Bidvest Wits this evening, the 50-year-old explained that he is happy with what he has seen at the club so far, insisting that they’re ready to take on Wits – a team that won their first game 3-0.
He told the club’s official website, “I know what’s expected of me. When you join a big club like Chiefs you know what you have to do and that is to win points. I am very happy with the professionalism of my team. The players are working hard at training and that’s exactly what we need to do if we want to challenge for honours this season.
“We have a limited period to recover before our next game against Bidvest Wits. It promises to be another tough encounter, but we will be ready come Tuesday night.”
The two teams lock horns at FNB Stadium tonight, kick off is at 19h30.
