Solinas’ Amakhosi Praise After Walloping Stars

Giovanni Solinas was full of praise for his players after they thumped Free State Stars 3-0 in the MTN8, admitting that there was no opportunity for a second chance on this occasion.
The Amakhosi booked their spot in the semi-finals of the tournament – where they will face SuperSport United – thanks to goals from Dumisani Zuma, Leonardo Castro and Khama Billiat, with Solinas’ first win at the club coming against his former employers.
Now, as they prepare to return to league action tomorrow night against Baroka, the Italian says that he’s proud of the Glamour Boys after they managed to bounce back from the 3-1 defeat at the hands of Bidvest Wits last week.
He told the club’s official website, “I am proud of the boys… Congratulations to my boys, they played a beautiful game.
“It was a game of in or out. There are no second chances in cup matches. We played very positively, creating a lot of chances. Every player pressed, covered well and we had a compact defence as a team.
“We played the first two matches with the same line-up. We decided to refresh the team with fresh energy by bringing in some younger players.”
Chiefs face Baroka at 19h30 tomorrow.
