Chiefs Welcome Back Midfield Maestro
George Maluleka Is Due To Return For Kaizer Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs have been handed a boost going into the final stretch of the season, with a key midfielder on the verge making a return to action.
George Maluleka hasn’t played for the Glamour Boys at all in March as he recovered from an ankle injury, but has still played more minutes this season in the Absa Premiership (1508) than all but five of his teammates.
Now, with the club looking to keep their slim hopes of challenging for the league title alive and push on in the Nedbank Cup, Steve Komphela is likely to be able to call upon ‘Mido’ for their next game after the international break.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Chiefs’ first team physiotherapist, David Milner, gave an update on the midfield maestro.
Milner said, “Mido has recovered and is fit again… He is fully participating in training sessions. Of course, he’s not match fit as yet, but it’s still a way to go before our Nedbank Cup quarterfinal, which will only be played in about ten days and he might be ready by then.”
Chiefs’ next game sees them pitted against Barok in the Nedbank quarterfinals, with the match set to take place on Easter weekend.
