DStv Premiership side Swallows FC have made a decision regarding the future of winger George Lebese.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs winger had been on trial with the Dube Birds, hoping to secure a deal after last playing for US Championship side Colorado Springs Switchbacks.
Swallows team manager Elaso Kapowezha confirmed to the Siya crew that the 32-year-old attacker is no longer with them. Kapowezha, however, did not want to give reasons for the club’s decision not to add the winger to their squad ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
“George is no longer training with us. He stopped last week, but I can’t recall the exact date, but he is no longer training with us. I would not want to go into those details (as to) why he is no longer with us. We don’t want to talk about players who are not with Swallows. It would be very unfair. I can only confirm that he has stopped training with us and that means we will not be signing him. That’s all I can say at this stage,” Kapowezha told the Siya crew.
Lebese’s search for a new club, since returning from abroad, continues.
