Belgian club, Racing Genk, have informed Bafana Bafana head coach, Gordon Igesund, that Anele Ngcongca is not available for tomorrow’s game against Nigeria.
South Africa’s national team coach was expecting the defender to arrive today alongside fellow foreign-based international, Tokelo Rantie, however Igesund has today informed the media that Ngcongca will not be taking part.
The head coach explained that Genk have informed him that the 25-year-old had picked up an injury, although there are questions surrounding the latest news.
According to Bafana’s official Twitter account, they are not letting this situation lie. They said, “Anele Ngcongca out of Nigeria game. His team saying he is injured but the Association is taking up the matter.”
It remains to be seen if Igesund will attempt to call-up another right back in order to replace Ngcongca, although with the game taking place tomorrow it seems unlikely that he would be able to bring in a back-up at such late notice.
