Kaizer Chiefs defender, Siboniso Gaxa, is expected to be ready in time for Fridays’ encounter with Moroka Swallows.
The 29-year-old had to be substituted just after the hour mark during the Amakhosi’s 1-0 win over Mamelodi Sundowns last week, after he picked up an injury during the game.
At the time he was replaced by Tefu Mashamaite, with Erick Mathoho dropping to right-back, and the club managed to hold on and claim the victory.
Now, with Chiefs targeting their eighth straight win in the PSL against the Dube Birds, it seems that they will have Gaxa back in time, with the defender’s injury being deemed nothing serious.
Stuart Baxter does have Kgotso Moleko available should Gaxa not recover in time, though he has often opted to field other players in the position rather than Moleko in the past.
Chiefs travel to Dobsonville Stadium on Friday evening, with the game set to begin at 20h00.
