Veteran attacker Rodney Ramagalela is closing in on a move in the DStv Premiership following his exit from Black Leopards the Siya crew has been informed.
The 32-year-old, who skippered Lidoda Duvha last season was amongst a host of experienced players, including Edwin Gyimah and Ovidy Karuru that were shipped out following the team’s relegation to the GladAfrica Championship.
Despite his side’s stuttering season, Ramagalela was one of Leopards’ standout players, making 25 appearances in all competition in a new role as a right-winger.
Being a free agent following his exit from the club where he enjoyed two separate spells, it came as very little surprise that the former Mamelodi Sundowns man had a number of suitors in the DStv Premiership.
Siya sources have informed the crew that the forward is close to joining Gavin Hunt at Chippa and that an announcement from the club is expected in the coming days.
Hunt has been quietly assembling a strong squad out in Gqeberha as his side look to do better than last season, where they managed to secure survival via the relegation/promotion playoffs.
The Chilli Boys get their campaign underway on 21 August with an away fixture to PSL newbies Sekhukhune United.
