The Siya crew can reveal that Golden Arrows will meet with their striker, Thamsanqa Gabuza, on Tuesday (tomorrow), to discuss the player’s future.
The gangly forward’s stature has grown since joining Abafana Bes’thende from then National First Division side, Durban Stars, in 2009. He made 16 league starts and scored two goals in all competitions last season, and is considered as one of the most feared strikers in the league due to his pace and physical presence.
Recent rumours in the media have surfaced, indicating that the likes of Orlando Pirates and Wits are chasing his signature, with Gabuza being a notable absentee as the Lamontville-based outfit began their preseason training today.
Speaking to the crew, the 25-year-old Gabuza confirmed, “Yes, I was not at training today. I still need to meet the management to discuss my future, as I have made my intentions clear that I want to leave the club and face new challenges. That meeting will take place tomorrow.”
The Tsakane-born striker’s contract with Arrows expires in 2016, and with his deal in place, any interested party will need to meet Arrows’ asking price.
