SuperSport United midfielder, Mogogi Gabonamong, who looks to be on his way to Polokwane City, refuses to be drawn on speculation about his future.
The experienced midfielder has not played much this season, starting a mere four league games so far in the campaign, and with his contract expiring in June, he is believed to be on his way out. Boebie Solomons, who has previously worked with Gabonamong at Santos, is believed to be a big fan of the player and sees him as someone that can stabilise 'Rise and Shine’s midfield as they look to keep their status in the PSL.
The Botswana player told the Siya crew, “I’m still at SuperSport. As for the rumours about going to Polokwane City, they spoke about it and I think they are trying to finalise something. But for now there’s nothing much I can say.”
Contacted for comment, City's PRO, Patrick Baloyi, revealed, "I can't deny or confirm if we showed interest in him. He's undoubtedly one of the experienced and versatile players in the PSL. The coach did indicate that he needs a defensive midfielder and he might come in handy with his experienced, but until we have players in the camp, that's when I can comment."
The crew can confirm that the player was not included in the list of players to participate in Matsatsantsa a Pitori’s Caf Confederation Cup campaign, meaning he could definitely be on the way out.
