Gabonamong Joins Celtic

SuperSport United midfielder, Mogogi Gabonamong, has joined Bloemfontein Celtic, signing an 18-month contract with Siwelele.

It was originally thought that the 31-year-old could be on his way to Polokwane City this transfer window, with the Botswana international struggling for game time at Matsatsantsa.

However, Celtic were quick to tie up their business with the veteran midfielder, and he has signed an 18-month contract with Celtic, with the option of an added year should things work out.

Steve Kapeluschnik, the player’s agent, confirmed the move to the Siya crew. He said, “I can confirm that Gino has signed an 18-month contract with Celtic, and there’s also an option for a further year.

“Gino is thrilled to be going to work with Ernst Middendorp, a coach he has admired for years, and he’s looking forward to a new challenge in Bloemfontein. He’ll be making his way there during the course of today.”

Meanwhile, the player himself also spoke of his excitement, thanking SuperSport for his time there. He said, “I had a wonderful time at SuperSport, but this was a good opportunity for me. It’s time to move on, but I want to thank the coach, management and players at SuperSport for the time I had there.”

Celtic have also revealed that they have released midfielder, John Arwuah, after he signed a pre-contract with AmaZulu. He is now free to join up with Craig Rosslee’s team immediately.
