Furman: We’re Playing For The Win

Bafana Bafana midfielder Dean Furman says that South Africa will be going all out for the win when they take on Morocco on Sunday.

The 24-year-old Oldham Athletic captain put in a Man of the Match performance in Bafana’s 2-0 win over Angola in midweek and has told the Siya crew that it was a good result for both him and the nation.

Furman said, “It was great, I really enjoyed it. It was a big win for us, it was important and hopefully it gives us a bit of momentum for the Morocco game.

“We have to use this performance in the next coming games, I thought everyone was excellent, our attacking play was excellent, they couldn’t live with it. It was 2-0 but it could have been more. Defensively I thought the back four was excellent and I think they kept Manucho out of the game.”

Bafana are guaranteed to make it out of Group A as long as they avoid defeat against the Lions of the Atlas, and they will know that, even if they lose there is still a chance they could go through.

However, the former Glasgow Rangers man also explained that he and his teammates will not be happy with a draw in order to see them go through and will be going all out for the win.

He explained: “It’s not nice going into any game knowing that all you need is a draw so we’re going to play for the win, we’re going to play like we did against Angola, Morocco are a good side.”

Bafana supporters will be keen for their side to put in another winning performance, like they did against Angola, when they meet Morocco this weekend and make sure that this year’s Afcon hosts continue their challenge for silverware.
