News reaching the Siya crew is that Oldham Athletic’s Bafana Bafana midfielder, Dean Furman, is set to join English League One leaders, Doncaster Rovers, on loan.
Furman, who shot to prominence in South Africa during the recent African Cup of Nations, will see his current contract with the Latics come to an end in June, and there has been much speculation about his next move.
Now the Siya crew can reveal that the 24-year-old is likely to join up with Rovers, who are currently on top of their division, as he attempts to help them in their push to reach the Championship.
The move will mean that the remainder of Furman’s Oldham contract will run out during his time at Doncaster, meaning that he can sign for anyone once his loan move comes to an end.
It remains to be seen where Furman’s long-term future will be, however a swap from League One relegation candidates, Oldham, to Championship hopefuls, Doncaster, is certainly a step up for the Bafana man.
