Free State Stars head coach, Luc Eymael, has emphasised the importance of collecting three points, as he and his team prepare for the match against Kaizer Chiefs.
Ea Lla Koto will host Amakhosi at Goble Park in their second round Absa Premiership match. Having returned from Cape Town, where they defeated Ubuntu Cape Town in a cup competition at Athlone Stadium on Saturday, Stars are back in training to prepare for their league match against Chiefs.
“We trained yesterday (Sunday) on our arrival in Bethlehem. We trained in two groups. One group did the regeneration and the other group did normal training. And today (Monday), we are training. We are training again tomorrow (Tuesday) in order to make (the) selection for the game against Chiefs. We’ll see,” said Eymael.
“We’ll have to take it one game at a time. We are left with only three home games, including the game against Chiefs. It’s important to collect three points at home. But it won’t be an easy game. I think my boys are motivated,” concluded the Belgian tactician.
Eymael says he was not impressed with his team’s performance against Ubuntu. The coach has promised to make adjustments to his line-up for the Chiefs match. Chiefs and Stars drew 1-1 in their first round league match played at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in November.
With media reports linking the Stars coach to Chiefs, there is no doubt that the Amakhosi management will be keeping a close eye on Eymael's performance, as he aims to prove a point with a win over the Glamour Boys.
