The Siya crew has been made aware that Free State Stars midfielder Angelo Kerspuy could make a return to Bloemfontein Celtic next season, although the player denies the rumour.
Kerspuy made his PSL debut on the books of Celtic in the 2010/11 season and soon caught the eye of their rivals, Ea Lla Koto, who signed him at the beginning of last season. The Stellenbosch-born player has made 15 league starts for Kinnah Phiri’s side, but it is believed that Phunya Sele Sele are keen to have him back.
In fact, according to Siya sources, talks between the 28-year-old star’s representatives and Celtic are at advanced stage and if all goes well in the negotiations a deal could be concluded soon.
Kerspuy told the crew, “No, this is the first time I’m hearing this. I still have another season to run on my contract and you always have to focus on where you are. I want to help the team survive relegation. I wouldn’t mind going back to Celtic if it happens that we go down, because no one wants to play down there. But, like I said, my focus is on doing the job at Free State Stars.”
