Free State Stars have made an early coaching change, with Themba Sithole stepping back and allowing a new man to take charge.
Vladislav Herić has been appointed for the rest of the season, with Stars boss Rantsi Mokoena pointing to his vast experience in the GladAfrica Championship (NFD) over the years following the club’s relegation from the top flight.
The Serbian has worked at more than 10 Premier Soccer League clubs since 2007.
“We welcome him and we think he will help us this season,” Mokoena, confirming the coaching change, told the Siya crew.
“If you look at his work, especially in the NFD, you will see that he has been successful and that is exactly what we are hoping he can do for us.”
Sithole was given the head coach job shortly after Stars were relegated from the Absa Premiership back in May, but he and Duncan Lechesa will now form part of Herić backroom staff. Under Sithole, the club has managed a draw and two defeats in their opening three league matches and it is hoped Herić will bring consistently positive results.
