Free State Stars have handed defender Brandon Dean a trial with the side, as Coach Denis Lavagne continues his search for defensive options for his team.
Dean turned professional with SuperSport United, having joined the Tshwane outfit from the University of Stellenbosch. The left-back spent the 2015/16 season with Santos in the National First Division on a season-long loan deal.
With Matsatsantsa having opted to sign Keegan Ritchie from Kaizer Chiefs, when their former left-back Sibusiso Khumalo went the other way to the Soweto giants, Dean found himself with no place in Stuart Baxter’s team at Matsatsantsa.
Sources at Ea Lla Koto have confirmed that the 21-year-old has been training with the Bethlehem outfit. In other news from the Free State club, Stars are believed to have tabled a R500 000 offer to Kenyan Premier League club Chemelil Sugar FC for Joseph Okumu.
The Kenyan centre back has impressed during his trial with Stars, and they are working on finalising a deal for him to replace Justice Chabalala, who has been sold to Orlando Pirates.
