It has been revealed that the match between Free State Stars and Bloemfontein Celtic will be played on February 2, rather than two days later, as was initially announced.
This will be the first match from the break for both clubs and comes a day after the final of the Chan tournament, which will be on February 1. Free State football lovers could not have asked for a better game to kick-start the second half of the year, as it is always an interesting encounter when the two sides clash.
When they met earlier this season, the match ended in a 2-2 draw and both sides will be eager to collect maximum points.
Ea Lla Koto are in desperate need of points, as they have been on a poor run before and after Steve Komphela’s departure and, playing at Goble Park, will go all out on attack. They are in position 15 on the league table, while 12th-placed Phunya Sele Sele will want to open 2014 with a win, after losing 3-1 to Wits in their last game of 2013.
