After initially reporting that the Free State derby between Free State Stars and Bloemfontein Celtic will be played on February 2 instead of two days later as was mentioned, the Siya crew has now been informed that the game will be taking place on February 1.
This will be the first game for the year for both sides, following the break from PSL action due to the Chan tournament that it currently taking place. Ironically, the game takes place on the same day of the final, which will be contested at Cape Town Stadium.
However, the Free State derby begins at 15h00, with the final set for a 20h00 starting time. The new date for the fixture was confirmed by the PSL.
The Free State derby will be viewed by many as a six-pointer, as both teams are eager to move up the league standings. Ea Lla Koto are in 15th place, while Phunya Sele are sitting in 12th position.
