A France-based defender, who is originally from Mali, is linked with a top club in the Premier Soccer League during this transfer window.
With clubs reinforcing their squads for the 2019/20 season, the name of Mamadou Wage has come up as a potential signing for Bidvest Wits, who are said to be interested in his services, according to the 28-year-old player’s handlers.
French-based agent Sofian Soltani confirmed the interest in the centre-back.
“Yes, the player is going to probably go to Bidvest Wits. Initially, he was supposed to go to AmaZulu, but they didn’t reply,” Soltani told the Siya crew.
“He is a defender. The club (Wits) said they were looking for a tall central defender, who is good in the air. He is exactly what they are looking for,” confirmed the representative.
Wage has been on the books of Al-Shorta SC in Iraq, and according to the representative, the player will become a free agent at the end of next month.
He has played for clubs in France, Hungary, Cyprus and Sweden, among other countries, in his career.
