French Ligue 1 side, Lille, are believed to have sent scouts to Zimbabwe to watch Mamelodi Sundowns’ Khama Billiat do his thing last month.
There has been plenty of speculation regarding Billiat’s future over the past few months as he continues to take the Absa Premiership by storm, and there seems to be an increasing chance that he may well be on his way to Europe.
Both Lille and Monaco has been mentioned with regards to the 25-year-old’s future, however as reported in this week’s Soccer Laduma, Lille seem to be more interested than their French compatriots.
A Siya source explained that scouts had seen the player score for his national team against Swaziland in March, saying, “If you look at the way things are going now, it is clear that Khama is expected to leave Sundowns at the end of the season. The interest from France is growing with every passing day.
“Two weeks ago there were officials in Harare from Lille who had to come watch him against Swaziland just to show how serious they are about him.”
Lille currently have a South African on the books of their youth team in the shape of young Lebo Mothiba, as well as seven other Africans in their senior squad.
