Platinum Stars' coach Allan Freese praised his players' character after they fought back to beat Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 on Saturday evening in the Telkom Knockout Quarter-Finals.
He also thanked the fans for showing up tonight, and conceded that it was a tough game and that Sundowns had been unfortunate.
"First and foremost I'd to to thank those people (the fans), it's been a long while since we have had support like that.
"Yes, the penalty was a turning point, but it's like I said, we planned for the game and how we wanted to play.
"We went a goal down, and that put us on the back foot. But we relaxed and got our things together, and then we started to play.
"But it was a hard game to play, unlucky to Sundowns, but it's a cup game.
"I'd like to again thank the people for coming, and of course my technical staff, and the players, who, most of all, showed character, and came back."
