Platinum Stars coach Allan Freese was lost for words after seeing his side win the MTN8 on Saturday night.
Dikwena took the lead through Robert Ng'ambi but a late equaliser from Thabo Matlaba ensured that the game went the distance.
Stars were composed in the penalty shootout though, with just Takesure Chinyama failing to beat Senzo Meyiwa while Pirates fell apart and Stars won 3-1.
"If you give me a minute for it to sink in a bit more. I have got to say that the boys, when we went down we kept on fighting, but we didn't expect it to go to penalties," he said.
"When they equalised, we had to work hard. In extra-time the boys dug in, but I am happy for the win. I am happy for the players, the club, the technical team amd all the people who support the team. I'd like to thank all the supporters who came to support us.
"But to Roger (de Sa) unlucky, and to Pirates unlucky."
