Free State Stars Update On Sale Rumour
Free State Stars chairman, Mike Mokoena, has confirmed that the club is officially not for sale.
Following a failed attempt by Stars’ management of wanting to sell the club last year, talk in the local football fraternity has been that Ea Lla Koto could welcome potential buyers for the team’s PSL status again this year.
But the chairman of the Bethlehem outfit has ended the speculation and confirmed that the club is not on sale.
“We are not selling and have already started with preparations for the new season,” said Mokoena.
Stars have already returned from the off-season break, as they started with their pre-season training last week. The indication from sources close to the club is that the team could decide to play some of their games for the 2017/18 season in Parys.
The club is expected to announce a new head coach in due course, as well as the players to be added to next season’s squad. Among some of the potential transfer targets, the club has been linked with the defender, Innocent Maela, from Thanda Royal Zulu.
