Free State Stars are thought to have tabled an offer for Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Mthokozisi Yende, with his loan club, Maritzburg United, unlikely to offer him a full-time deal.
Yende has spent this season on loan with the Team of Choice after being deemed surplus to requirements at Naturena, however he has since dropped out of Ernst Middendorp’s plans and Stars are looking to take advantage of the situation.
Siya crew sources have revealed that the 28-year-old, who sees his Chiefs contract expire in June, has been offered a three-year deal by Ea Lla Koto as they look to add him to their ranks.
However, it seems that Stars will not be the only team set to try and lure the Tembisa-born midfielder to their club, with the likes of AmaZulu, Moroka Swallows and SuperSport United all thought to be keeping a close eye on him at present.
Meanwhile, it is believed that the likes of Tshepo Mosoeneng, Kennedy Mweene and Dove Wome are all set for exits from the club, while the Brazilian coaching duo of Milton Nienov and Marco Munhoz may also leave.
A source explained that the Brazilians, whose contracts expire in June, are being eyed up by PSL sides in both Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal, and may opt to join someone else.
Nienov, the goalkeeper coach, and Munhoz, the physical trainer, have already entered into negotiations with Stars, although it remains to be seen whether they will stay at the club.
