ABSA Premiership
Result: AmaZulu 1-1 SuperSport
Date: 21 September 2013
Venue: Moses Mabhida Stadium
An early goal by Thuso Phala gave the visiting SuperSport the lead in the seventh minute until an own goal by Captain Bevan Fransman was enough to seal a share of the spoils for AmaZulu.
SuperSport’s Phala scored just seven minutes into the first-half with a right footed finish, after being setup by Mame Niang and seemed to have given the visitors a dream start to this Absa Premiership clash.
Usuthu will be relieved to have gotten a point in this home clash and will thank Matsatsantsa captain Bevan Fransman for their equaliser, after the defender put the ball in his own net in the 28th minute following a Nkosinathi Mthiyane cross.
AmaZulu's Ayanda Dlamini almost grabbed the winner in the 72nd minute but the right winger's shot was well blocked by a very impressive shot stopper Williams.
Craig Rosslee will be disappointed that his team could not make their home advantage count and jump SuperSport on the league table, the two clubs are both on 11 points with Matsatsantsa edging ahead of Usuthu narrowly on goal difference and putting them top of the log.
