Bloemfontein Celtic striker, Frank Mhango, has explained why Bernard Parker's 10 league goals was enough to win the Kaizer Chiefs striker the PSL's leading goalscorer gong.
The Amakhosi hitman was the only player to reach double figures in the Absa Premiership - a statistic which perhaps shines a bad light on the quality of finishing in Mzansi's top flight.
Mhango, a Malawi international who signed for Siwelele from Big Bullets at the start of the recently concluded campaign, managed to score eight goals to finish just behind Parker in the goalscoring rankings. It was a creditable return for the player who was bought to fill in for Lennox Bacela, who had earlier left for Orlando Pirates.
The Chiweta-born forward explained why he felt there was such relatively low goal returns in the PSL this past season. He told Soccer Laduma in edition 874, "Sometimes we PSL strikers lack composure in the box as well. We tend to rush things and we don't score, hence we failed to overtake Parker's 10 goals."
With this being said, Mhango's debut season was a very bright one and he could have plenty to offer Celtic next season.
