Club Legend On Why Jali Should Return To Pirates
Former Orlando Pirates winger Joseph Ngake talks about Andile Jali's potential return
Orlando Pirates legend Joseph Ngake has told Soccer Laduma that should the opportunity arise for former Pirates midfielder Andile Jali to return to the South African Premiership, he should go back to Pirates.
The Bucs legend noted that the 28-year-old who parted ways with Belgian outfit KV Oostende should return to the club that helped shaped his career.
“Many people don’t understand that often as footballers there is one club that always remains your home no matter where you go and how many clubs you play for,” said the Bucs former winger.
“The fact is that Jali played his best football at Pirates and that is where he should go if he indeed wants to make a return to South Africa. Look for me, he is still young and very talented and I’m sure if he gets offers in Europe he will stay abroad.
“However, I also believe that he wants to come back, then Pirates should be the team that he comes back to. This reminds me of Benedict Vilakazi’s situation when he left Pirate to go play in Sweden. When it was revealed that he would come back a lot of people thought he would come back to Pirates where he became a household name.
“All I can say is that he was never the same Tso when he played for other teams,” noted Ngake.
“I know it’s a sentimental philosophy but as a player I believe that every player’s heart belongs to one club. But no matter what the outcome is Jali is an exceptional player who has enough quality to play anywhere. We still need his quality at the national team,” concluded the former Bucs man.
The crew previously reported that Jali had parted ways with his side and that there are indications that he had begun initial talks with Pirates. However, it is understood that Mamelodi Sundowns who are also firm favourites of the Bafana midfielder is said to be closely keeping tabs on the 28-year-old.
