A former Orlando Pirates midfielder has been named as the coach of a club to replace ex-Bloemfontein Celtic mentor Veselin Jelusic.
Zambian Division One side, City of Lusaka, has confirmed appointing Isaac Chansa as the club’s new head coach, following Jelusic’s departure, which according to the club, was on mutual consent to attend to personal matters.
“City of Lusaka Football Club announced on Tuesday 13 April 2021, that the club has parted ways with Head Coach, Veselin Jelusic. It was mutually agreed for coach Jelusic to leave in order to attend to personal matters of an urgent nature,” the club stated in a statement on their official website.
City chairman Chomba Mumba is hoping that Chansa will lead the side to promotion back to the Super League.
“City of Lusaka is in a strong position to gain promotion with twelve league games remaining. We believe that Coach Chansa is the right person to build on the foundations laid in the league thus far. Welcome to the Yamoto family Coach Chansa,” he said, speaking through the club’s website.
