So far this season, Mokwena and Milutin Sredojevic have done well in guiding Bucs to be PSL title contenders.

In his interview in edition 1064 of Soccer Laduma, Mokwena confirmed his ambition of being a head coach one day.

Speaking to the Siya crew, Thulasizwe Mbuyane believes that Mokwena would be ready to lead Pirates as their head coach one day.

“He can do well as a head coach. I mean, you can see what the guy achieve at Sundowns. He worked very well with Coach Pitso (Mosimane). He has worked with the other coaches as well in his career, including coach Khabo (Zondo),” said Mbuyane.

“He started very well at Pirates. Everyone wants to work with him and that’s why Stuart Baxter wanted him in Bafana Bafana. Pirates is a big team, and with him having started there as an assistant coach will help him to learn and understand the culture of the team. I don’t see him failing at Orlando Pirates. So far, I’m happy with Rhulani’s contribution. I can see that the guys (players) are happy to have him on the team. They are in a happy space. For supporters, it is easy to pay to go and watch the team. It is always encouraging to go and watch a team when you know that they won’t let you down with their effort. I see a bright future for Rhulani at Pirates,” concluded Juju.

So far the guy has workeds with some of the best couches We have in this country. But being the head couch is way different from being an assistant couch. Let not Rush the guy into head couch role. Let give him time to develop the necessary skills required.

Rhulani is an inspiration to other young coaches out there, and I would love if SAFA can have coaching academies to develop coaching skills that SA can be able to officiate in world tournaments and our coaches can also ply their trade in other countries. That will be awesomeness.
