How An Ex-Buccaneer Has Been Giving Back To Community After Retirement

A former Orlando Pirates midfielder has been giving back to the community through the game after his retirement from professional football.

Thembile Kanono, who played for Pirates and Bloemfontein Celtic among other professional clubs in his career, has been coaching children from the Sol Plaatje University (SPU) community project in Kimberly, which is also known as Bana Bokamoso.

Kanono has been working with former Golden Arrows striker Norman Smith in coaching the children, as well as former Maritzburg City player Daniel Thlageng.

“Thembile Kanono is working for the Sol Plaatje University in Kimberly as the coach. He is there together with Norman Smith and Daniel Thlageng. They have been doing some great work with the children through football,” confirmed the source.
