Former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Thabo Nthethe has begun his coaching career, but has not officially retired from playing.
The 37-year-old, who last played for TS Galaxy in 2019/20 campaign in the GladAfrica Championship, has been made coach of ABC Motsepe League side Casric Bucs FC from Pretoria, following the departure of Sly Mosala.
Speaking to the Siya crew, the 2016 CAF Champions League winner said he still has some hope of playing football. So, despite taking on a coaching role at Bucs FC, Nthethe has not officially retired from the game and he will wait to see what happens in the future before he makes a final decision.
"I am helping at the club. I know the chairman of the team. No (he hasn't retired). I am still having that hope and we will see how it goes," Nthethe told the Siya crew.
Nthethe is one of many veterans available as free agents, with the likes of Hlompho Kekana, Anthony Laffor, Asavela Mbekile, Abia Nale and Sifiso Myeni.
