As reported in the past by the Siya crew, Zwane has been linked with a move to Chiefs and with the player approaching the final six months of his contract with Sundowns, there have been escalating speculation about whether or not the 28-year-old will remain with the Brazilians beyond the current 2017/18 season.
It was previously revealed that Zwane’s party and Sundowns are currently in discussions about a new deal for the player, however, months later, according to Siya sources, the parties have still not reached an agreement.
Speaking in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, McCarthy, who made the move from Sundowns to Chiefs during his professional football career, gave his thoughts on whether or not Zwane should remain at Chloorkop or consider a potential move to Amakhosi.

“To be honest with you, he is a good player and obviously with the way things are going at Chiefs these days, who knows if Coach Steve Komphela will still stay on at Kaizer Chiefs next year. So if he makes that decision to join Chiefs and the coach leaves, then what?” McCarthy said in this week’s Siya special.
“But now, it is a bit tricky if you don’t know who is going to be the coach. Obviously, he wants to play at the highest level and play again in the (CAF) Champions League with a team that is hungry and wants to be successful.
“So, it is going to be a decision that he must not rush to because he is still at Sundowns and the coach is still using him. I mean, if he wants to follow Ramahlwe Mphahlele, then it will probably be good for him in a way,” he added.
