Bongani Ndulula is struggling in his search for a club in the PSL, since being released from his last contract in South Africa's topf-light in January last year.
Following an unsuccessful stint with Chippa United, the former Kaizer Chiefs striker was released from his contract with the Port Elizabeth outfit last year.
The player had been with the Eastern Cape club for only half a season, from July 2016 to January 2017. Before being released from Chippa, the player had been put on a special training programme in an attempt to get him back to the required fitness levels, under then club coach, Dan Malesela.
News reaching the Siya crew is that the 28-year-old former Orlando Pirates player is currently in Johannesburg, where he is keeping fit with playing social league football.
“Bongani Ndulula is in Jo’burg, and playing social league football with some of the former PSL players that are currently clubless. He plays with guys like Sipho Mngomezulu (former Jomo Cosmos) and Junior Khanye (former Chiefs), among others,” a source told the Siya crew.
“The challenge with Drogba (Ndulula) at the moment is that he looks a little bit overweight. But he looks serious about wanting to improve his fitness levels and to return to the right condition. In one of the matches they played recently, he was put in goals when there was a problem in the goalkeeping department,” concluded the source.
Attempts have been made to get a comment from Ndulula, but his phone rang unanswered when the Siya crew called him.
