Former Kaizer Chiefs star, Junior Khanye, is set for a comeback to competitive football with a club in the ABC Motsepe League.
Khanye has been in the football wilderness for some time, since his return from Swaziland in 2013.
In edition 1048 of Soccer Laduma, the midfielder made a plea to clubs for another chance in South African football.
The Siya crew has learnt that Mikhado FC in Mzansi’s third tier is keen on giving the 32-year-old a chance at the team.
Mikhado in Limpopo recently signed former Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana midfielder, Lerato Chabangu.
“Junior Khanye is set for a return to football with a team in Limpopo. Mikhado FC has promised to sign him. He has had talks with them and they have promised to sign him. With the year coming to an end, the deal is likely to be finalised in January,” said the source.
Contacted for comment, Khanye confirmed that he is looking forward to reviving his career with the club.

“I did have talks with the club’s chairman and everything is looking good. I have spoken to Lerato (Chabangu) and he has encouraged me to join the team. All I need is a professional setup where I can regularly train and get game-time. I have been assured that everything is alright,” said Khanye.
