The 24-year-old wasn’t given much of a chance to impress under Jomo Sono last season as he made just six appearances all campaign, however, he is now hoping to find his feet in the NFD with Eagles having played two games so far.

Mokoena, a centre back, has secured a three-year deal with Eagles and is now taking aim at helping them make sure that they stay in South Africa’s second division following their promotion from the ABC Motsepe League last season.

Eagles got their first win of 2017/18 over the weekend when they beat Uthongathi 2-0 and will hope to back that up with another victory up against Royal Eagles on Saturday afternoon.

Mokoena’s side is currently 13th after four games.
