The daunting football journey that started from the grassy patches along the N2 highway in Cape Town to magnificent World Cup Stadiums are some of the memories of former Chippa United and Banyana Banyana fitness trainer Riedoh Berdien about the beautiful game.
Berdien, who is currently working as an assistant coach and fitness trainer at Tanzanian club Young Africans under Belgian coach Luc Eymael, reminisced about his past experiences in reference to his time at Chippa earlier in his career and in relation to some of the wonderful work he has done.
”We conditioned players within intensive spaces and that improved our players’ reactions and decision-making. These football actions were transformed from the grassy patches along the N2 into extensive world cup stadium pitches,” Berdien stated in a message on Twitter.
Among some of the projects he has been involved in, Berdien previously also worked at Free State Stars, as well as the national teams of Botswana, Bangladesh as well as Trinidad and Tobago.
