Robyn Johannes scooped the Man of the Match award as Stellenbosch defeated his former side Orlando Pirates in the Absa Premiership.
Stellenbosch registered only their second league win of the season, with Iqraam Rayners' solitary strike securing a 1-0 win on Saturday afternoon.
Johannes, who started on the bench last week, claims they had a better understanding of the Buccaneers this time around after the League Cup clash last weekend.
"Difficult game, you know it's never easy playing against Pirates, they are a good footballing team, we had to bring our 'A' game. We defended well, great three points for the club," Johannes told SuperSport after the game.
"We saw in the first game how many chances they created, they are a good football playing team, we had to defend well, we soaked up the pressure for most of the game. Three points, clean sheet that's what is important."
When asked how much the victory means, he added, "Big, I think we move above them on the log, still a long ways to go but not too bad for Stellies who are having their first season in the PSL, so we keep on going."
