Former Ajax Cape Town striker, Alcardo van Graan, has jetted off for trials with an unnamed side in Thailand.
The 27-year-old lanky marksman gained fame when he scored against Manchester United in a pre-season match for the Urban Warriors ahead of the 2012/13 campaign, but did not taste regular action in official games and was eventually loaned out to Milano United, where Ajax had got him from in the first place.
His stay with Eezy My Kinnes was short-lived and has been in limbo recently, but is determined to revive his ailing football career.
Van Graan has been plying his trade for Stellenbosch University, but has accepted the invitation to go for assessment at a club in Thailand, where he will be hoping to clinch a deal.
Speaking to the Siya crew from the Cape Town International Airport shortly before his departure, he said, “Yes, I’m off to Thailand for a trial. There is a possibility that I will sign for the club after two weeks. When I have touched down that side, I will keep you updated about my progress, but I do not want to say much for now.”
