Football Betting Tips

In anticipation of Bafana Bafana’s crucial 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier, we preview Sunday’s clash with Ethiopia in Addis Ababa.

Having clinched all three points against the Central African Republic, can Gordon Igesund lead his team to success against the East Africans?

In addition, we preview the MLS Eastern Conference tie between New England Revolution and New York Red Bulls. Who is your money on?

If you are a betting person, here are tips ahead of the two fixtures brought to you by Soccer 6 and guest predictor, Mamelodi Sundowns striker, Edward Manqele.

ETHIOPIA V SOUTH AFRICA

Fifa ranking: Ethiopia 106th and South Africa 60th

Useful facts: In this World Cup Group A clash in the African side of qualifying, top of the table Ethiopia welcome Bafana Bafana to Addis Ababa. A win for Ethiopia will see them win passage to the final round of World Cup qualifying. A win for Bafana will give Gordon Igesund’s men the edge. This could be a tense affair in the Ethiopian capital.

Edward Manqele: Ey! This is a tough one. I’m not really even sure what is going to happen. You know what? I’m going to say a draw.

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION V NEW YORK RED BULLS

League position: New England 6th and Red Bulls 2nd (both in MLS Eastern Conference)

Useful facts: In this US Open Cup contest in the United States of America, the underperforming Revolution prepare for the visit of a Thierry Henry inspired Red Bulls. This season the French ace has already bagged six goals in 14 starts for the Metros. This means the New York side look to be favourites.

Edward Manqele: Red Bulls have got Henry. Because of this, I’ll say a win for them.
